About

Beloved Objects
"Most of my paintings are of beloved objects, often painted several times. They are things which have a resonance for me and I try and communicate that in the painting. Even the most ordinary object can be transformed by the touch of light. It’s surprising how often beauty can be found in the mundane, even under your feet as I tried to convey in my graffiti paintings."

Beginnings

I graduated from Birmingham College of Art in 1963 with a BA in graphic design and did some work as a book illustrator before having a family. Later I completed courses in fine art and printmaking and became very interested in etching and wood cuts before returning to painting.
